Over the last 20 years we have completed some 500 residential units. Saunders’ main experience is in multiple residential units in the forms of apartments or for student accommodation rather than housing estates. With the Government's recent drives to provide more homes, particularly on ‘brownfield’ sites, Saunders Architects have designed schemes for both new build apartments and conversion of existing buildings, including redundant office blocks. Our negotiation skills and positive working relationships with Local Authority Planning and Building Control departments have proven invaluable for our Clients in this field in balancing market forces with planning and amenity issues, as well as ensuring the end result is attractive to potential occupants.

At Lower Canal Walk, Southampton we had to design a high-density scheme on a highly sensitive site adjacent to part of the Southampton City Walls, with views over the oldest bowling green in the UK.
