Harlow Rugby Union Football Club

Completed in July 2017, Harlow Rugby Union Football Club is thrilled with their new facilities.

Following our appointment by the Client post-planning approval, we undertook a comprehensive audit of the design to ensure compliance with Building Regulations, Sport England and Rugby Football Federation guidelines. It was deemed a full overhaul of the design was needed and a new planning approval granted with no pre-commencement conditions, due to the level of detail provided with the application. Our novation to the contractor followed and we saw out the build to its completion.

The design consists of a robust concrete framed lower floor for the changing facilities with a steel framed and lightweight cedar clad SIPS panel construction to the first-floor function rooms.  The main hospitality area enjoys a fully glazed elevation and open balcony overlooking the main floodlit pitch. In addition to the clubhouse the scheme included associated pitches, parking and landscaping.

The building won Harlow Civic Society’s Architectural award for Business Premises 2017 and Facility Development of the Year 2018 at the National Rugby Awards.
